Hauntings

This body of work takes two different directions on the theme of Hauntings: residual and intelligent.

Residual- Cellphone pictures have become intriguing evidence of the paranormal as some capture seemingly inexplicable phenomena, such as residual hauntings. These eerie images display ghostly apparitions, strange lights, and unexplained distortions, suggesting a lingering presence from the past. From spectral faces peering through walls to ghostly orbs floating in mid-air, these captivating snapshots challenge our understanding of the spirit realm and provoke deeper questions about the nature of existence and the afterlife.

These pieces were taken with my phone then printed and transferred to vellum and tissue paper.

Intelligent- these drawings use layered cellophane, random found paper, and plywood to take on a hauntingly evocative quality. These figurative representations of memories transform into intelligent hauntings. The intentional combination of different materials creates a multi-dimensional effect, blurring the boundaries between the tangible and intangible. These mixed media creations serve as portals to the past, conjuring vivid recollections that animate the artwork with a sense of presence and interaction. Each mark becomes a conduit for summoning the spirits of my memories, as these ghostly imprints haunt the artistic medium, inviting viewers to contemplate the ethereal nature of human experiences and the enduring power of remembrance.
