The first works made directly on found bed linen, before the marks moved into other material. Each piece is enamel and thread on fabric someone else once slept under, named for the place in Washington where the linen was found: Shoreline, UDistrict, Renton, Tacoma, Monroe. The floral prints stay visible underneath, sometimes barely, sometimes taking over most of the piece. Monroe carries an extra layer, named for the town but also for my mother's maiden name, one of the few times a personal thread runs directly under the work rather than staying underneath the process.
